Charity Catalyst was created to solve a simple but important problem: students want to volunteer, charities need support, and businesses want to help - but there's no easy way to connect them.

We work with three groups: students, small charities, and local businesses. All three want the same thing, and all three run into something that stops them. Students want to volunteer but can't find anything that fits around school. Small charities need more people to know about them, and have no budget for advertising. Businesses want to support a cause close to home, and aren't sure where to start.
So we put them together in one campaign. A local business funds an awareness campaign for a charity. Student volunteers hand out the flyers around their own neighbourhoods. The charity reaches people it could not have reached on its own, and the students log real volunteering hours doing it.
Every campaign runs in the community the volunteers already live in. No car needed, no experience needed, and nothing that has to happen on a school day.
Making volunteering accessible for everyone
To make volunteering more accessible for students while amplifying the visibility and impact of small charities through community-supported partnerships.
In practice that means volunteering that fits around school, and charities reaching people who had never heard of them.
We exist to bring these groups together through structured, local volunteering initiatives that benefit everyone involved.
Breaking down barriers to volunteering
Many students face real challenges when trying to volunteer:

- Transport challenges to reach opportunities
- Few youth-friendly volunteering options
- Lack of structured programs nearby
At the same time, smaller charities often lack the marketing resources to raise awareness for their important causes. We bridge that gap.
